国际导演大师班（大洋洲）将于2014年5月18日——6月22日隆重开班，该班由中国文化部艺术司与上海戏剧学院联合主办，上海戏剧学院导演系承办，聘请大洋洲（包括澳大利亚和新西兰等国）的五位顶级国际导演大师亲自授课，并进行导演工作坊。每一位国际导演负责一周的教学工作，其中直接授课或工作坊为四天，第5天学生准备展示汇报，第6、7天为总结。
上海戏剧学院在中国文化部、教育部和上海市委宣传部、上海市教委的支持和协助下，自2009年起，已经连续五年成功举办了五届国际导演大师班，分别是“2009国际导演大师班（美国）”、 “2010国际导演大师班（英国）”、“2011年国际导演大师班（俄罗斯）”和“2012年国际导演大师班（法国）”和“2013年国际导演大师班（德国）”，邀请了美国、英国、俄罗斯、法国和德国的当代著名戏剧导演艺术家和教育家来到上海，与我们来自全国各地的重点院团的导演和演员们一起交流和切磋导演技法，使中西方导演艺术碰撞出新的火花和灵感。 每次大师班之后，我们都将授课内容整理成文字并配有课程光碟出版发行，详细记录了大师班的授课情况，总结了各位大师的技法精髓，为我国戏剧文化届增添了一笔宝贵的财富。迄今为止我们已经出版了《国际导演大师班》丛书的《2009美国卷》、《2010英国卷》、《2011俄罗斯卷》、《2012法国卷》，《2013德国卷》五本专著。
本次国际导演大师班的授课对象除了上海戏剧学院及上海其他高校的导演专业师生外，还将面向全国各个文化厅局具有高级职称的导演工作者，计划招收学员30名，对于曾经获得“国家舞台艺术精品工程”的导演优先录取，并给予一定的资助。
“2014国际导演大师班（大洋洲）”是我国首次系统引进大洋洲著名导演艺术家文化学术活动，上海戏剧学院将配以国内著名的导演艺术家共同协作。届时，大师班还将组织学员观摩大量的戏剧演出和学术交流，全国各地的艺术家将集聚上海，互相交流碰撞出闪耀的艺术火花，为本次“国际导演大师班（大洋洲）”的举办，增添更为绚丽的色彩和宝贵的资源。
国际导演大师班第一期计划自2009年至2013年共举办5届，分别为：
2009年——美国
2010年——英国
2011年——俄罗斯
2012年——法国
2013年——德国
自2014年开始第二期，计划为：
2014年——大洋洲、
2015年——北欧、
2016年——东欧、
2017年——拉美、
2018年——亚洲
共5个地区。

The 2014 International Master Class on Directing (Oceania)
Shanghai Theatre Academy
The 2014 International Master Class on Directing will be held on 12th.May to 15th Jun., 2014. Cosponsored by the Art Bureau of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Shanghai Theatre Academy, this event is hosted by Directing Department of STA. Five internationally famous directors from Oceania (including Australia and New Zealand )will be invited to give lectures and workshops. Each International director will teach for a week. During the first fours days of the week, the master directors will give lectures and train the students on class. On the fifth day, the students are required to give a presentation in public. The professors and students will sum up and review what they have taught and learned in the whole week by discussing in the last two days.
Under the support of the Art Bureau of the Chinese Ministry of Culture,the Ministry of Education,the Propaganda Department of the CCP Shanghai Committee and the Commission of Education in Shanghai, we have already held five Master Classes on Directing from 2009. They are 2009 International Master Class on Directing(U.S.A.),2010 International Master Class on Directing(U.K.),2011 International Master Class on Directing(Russia),2012 International Master Class on Directing(France), 2013 International Master Class on Directing(German).Many contemporary theater directors from U.S.A., U.K.,Russia,France and German came to Shanghai, together with the Chinese directors and actors from the famous theaters all over China, discussed the directing techniques and exchanged their opinions on arts so that the new spark and inspiration of arts were generated. After each Master Class, we compiled all the contends of the class to edit and publish the books with CDs, which recorded the master class in details, summed up the essence of the directing techniques and also added a rich fortune to the theater culture in our country. Till now, we have already published five books of the series of International Master Class on Directing, which are 2009 International Master Class on Directing(U.S.A.),2010 International Master Class on Directing(U.K.),2011 International Master Class on Directing(Russia) and 2012 International Master Class on Directing(France), and 2013 International Master Class on Directing(German) .
Besides the faculty and students of the Directing Department of STA, senior professional directors from all over China are also encouraged to apply. This year we will recruit 30 students. Priority will be given to directors who have won the awards of the “National Stagecraft Competition Project .” There are also financial support available for them.
It is the first time in China that such a master class is held to introduce famous Oceanian directing professors into China systematically. STA will also invite experienced Chinese directors to assist or collaborate with the international masters. During that time, many theatre Festivals are going to be held in Shanghai. Theatre groups from different countries all over the world will gather in Shanghai, which will add great resources and more splendor to the 2014 International Master Class on Directing(Oceania).
The first phase of the International Master Class of Directing was planed to be hold five sessions from 2009 to 2013, which are as follows，
